Season Update – Sabre sponsored Monyhull Church FC

Jan 29 2020

Monyhull started the season in their new away kit sponsored by Sabre Jetting. Unfortunately, despite looking the part, they were unable to get off to winning ways. The season since has generally been disrupted largely due to weather conditions. ‘Hull went 10 weeks without a game before Christmas. This means there is plenty of football still to be played.

With there being only 8 teams in division 2 of the WMCFL, there is also a division 2 cup. It is set up of two groups of 4 teams, with a semi final and final to be played between the top two of each group. This, along with the overall cup, in which every team in both divisions enters.

Since Christmas, there have been a few more games played. The lads have managed to get themselves into a good position in their group of the division 2 cup (2 wins from 3) as well as a quarter final place in the overall league cup. They also took a Solihull Moors development team all the way on January 4th in a county cup. If it wasn’t for all the mince pies and ten weeks off there is every chance they could have come out on top that day, but Christmas didn’t appear to affect the young opposition!!

Only 4 league games have been played up to now, so the league table doesn’t look too healthy as there Is a lot of catching up to do. Although, the lads will be hoping to mount a challenge for promotion once the league games in hand begin being played.

Monyhull again would like to thank Sabre Jetting for there support this season in providing the new kit. (It has been worn again since that first loss, honestly!)
